Every girl dreams of her perfect day. I want to add to that dream by creating the perfect make up look for you. I understand what an important day this is, so I pride myself on giving my brides to be a very personalized service.
Some tips for brides to be:
Book your hair and make up as soon as possible so you have secured your date. Some brides are very organised and book over a year in advance!
Do research: Start thinking about what kind of wedding make up look you will be going for. This depends too on the style of your dress and hair also. Start collecting pictures and ideas on Pinterest that stand out to you. More often than not you will start to notice a trend in the styles you pick out.
Protect your skin. Keep your face out of the sun in the run up to the wedding and if you are in the sunshine wear a high SPF daily to avoid pigmentation on your skin.
Book your Trial: Try to have your hair and make up trials on the same day. If you want to wear a light tan on the tan, have some on for your make up trial so you will have an idea of the overall look. Have your skin exfoliated and hydrated before your trial. Usually a nice hydration mask on the morning of your trial will help your skin to look radiant. Explain during the trial if you are having coloured or black and white photography. Make a note of the lip products and powder you may want to buy to top up during the day if needed.
The week of your wedding: Do not try anything new this week in case of reactions, e.g lash tinting, eyelash extensions, threading etc! Make sure you have had patch tests and had trials in any of these risky areas to avoid reactions. Exfoliate your skin once this week with your usual light scrub. Hydrate your skin using a good face mask this week. Drink lots of water. Facials are also a no-go; these should be done a month in advance so there are no nasty surprises afterwards. Try to get a good night sleep, I remember for my wedding I did not sleep a wink in the nights before worrying about everything from mass booklets to ribbons for the cars!!!
Your wedding day: Do not go last in order while getting your make up done, I always find when the last person is getting their make up done, everything starts happening, the flowers arrive, the photographer arrives and its all go! I like to do the bride while everything is still clam and then the bride can relax and enjoy the rest of the morning. Give the bridesmaid your lipstick and lip gloss to top up with after the meal. Enjoy the best day you have been planning for so long.
